Gymnastic Britannia is registered with our DBS Provider, First Advantage, which allows DBS checks to be done digitally* for faster onboarding of coaches. This provides a cost-effective solution for clubs, which is essential in today’s competitive market, helping attract the great talent that your club and students deserve.
*Some services are manual.
Who Requires an Up-to-Date DBS:
• All coaches/helpers/volunteers aged 16 years+
• Welfare Officers
First Advantage also provides checks for the Republic of Ireland.

How do I register for a DBS?
Gymnastic Britannia will register any affiliated clubs and their verifier with our First Advantage account. Once complete (usually up to 7 days), the club will be able to register candidates requiring a DBS check online.
What is the minimum age for a DBS check?
16 years+.
We are a club from the Republic of Ireland. Can we use the service?
Yes. For the Republic of Ireland, checks are processed differently from the DBS. The link for this will be available on your club page once registered.
What level of DBS or Republic of Ireland check do I require?
An Enhanced Check is required.
Is there a charge for the checks?
Yes, charges may apply depending on the circumstances. If candidates receive financial benefits or rewards (such as free sessions), they will incur a fee for the DBS check. For volunteers who do not receive financial rewards, there may be a minimal admin fee.
